Prepare for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

When I first started ATI, I was just taking it to take, but now I have come up with study habits and ways to improve my score. When I take an ATI now, I make sure to take small breaks if it is one of longer ATI exams I am taking. This helps me to regroup and slowed down for a moment. Also, when it comes to taking the ATI, I make sure that I am in a quiet environment and my phone is turned off. Throughout the semester I started to utilize ATI to take practice questions before taking a proctored exam. For example, I did this for the Pharmacology retake, and I went up a level. I did notice when I was doing my remediations there were some content areas that I repeatedly got wrong, so I did try and review those areas by looking in the textbook and going back through ATI. Those areas that I repeatedly got wrong again took some practice questions and reviewed the rationales on correct answers. This did help to understand why the answer I chose was incorrect and why the right answer was correct. As I continued to take ATI exams, I noticed those content areas were improving, but still not where they should be. When I knew that I had an ATI to take I made sure that I created a time frame that was designated to taking the ATI. This helped me to plan my day and schedule other homework and activities around the ATI. When I was finished I would either go for a walk or go to the gym in order to burn off some energy. I think this helped to maintain a clear mind and not get super stressed out. Also, if I knew that I had a lot of remediations I would make sure to spread them out throughout the week and not just done them all in one sitting. I think that I will continue to use ATI to take exams and practice questions to prepare for the NCLEX. I will come up with a schedule on when to take exams and format to remediate the questions that I get wrong. I think this will help test my knowledge on what I know and what I am weak on along with studying the NCLEX prep book.
